Why a group books the whole course

An open course sends one person back to a team that did not go. Booking the course for your own people puts everyone in the same room at the same time, which is the difference between one member of staff with new ideas and a department that handles disagreement the same way.

We build the material from what is actually happening. Your grievance procedure, the disputes that keep coming back, the interface or the ward or the shop floor the training is for. The scenarios people practise on are yours, not generic ones out of a manual.

A closed room also changes what people are willing to say. Nobody describes a live grievance in front of strangers from three other organisations.

And the practical part: you choose the dates, we come to you or run it online, and the cost is per day rather than per seat — so the more people in the room, the less it costs per head.

How far you want to take it

The same catalogue, whether you need one afternoon of skills or a mediation service that runs itself once we have gone.

One day

Skills courses

A complete course on a single subject — handling the conversation people avoid, managing conflict in a team, trauma-informed practice. No prerequisites, and nothing you are expected to take afterwards.

Three to eight days

Accredited qualifications

OCN Northern Ireland accredited, with learners registered and assessed. Principled negotiation, mediation theory and practice, and the rest of the catalogue.

Prior training required

Speciality courses

Advanced practice for people who are already qualified: multi-party disputes, systemic conflict, and group work where feeling runs high.

Beyond training

Set up your own mediation service

Where training on its own is not enough. Designing the service, training your internal mediators, and co-working the first live cases until your own people can run it without us.

What it costs

One group, one day rate, however many people are in the room. There is no per-seat charge for in-house training.

Non-accredited and CPD

£2,000per day

Skills courses and CPD-accredited courses, delivered to one group.

OCN NI accredited

£2,500per day

Accredited qualifications, with every learner registered and assessed through OCN Northern Ireland.

One rate, wherever it happens. The day rate is the same whether we deliver at Mediation House, at your own premises anywhere in Northern Ireland, or online.

Discounts. Public sector 12.5% · Charities and community groups 25%. Applied to the day rate.

A day is up to eight guided hours. Most courses run over consecutive days, but they do not have to — a qualification can be spread across weeks to suit a rota or a school term.

We are a charity, not a free service. We are a charity, but we are not a free service. Our work is paid for — by an employer, an individual, a community organisation or a funder. Where a specific programme is funded so that taking part costs you nothing, that is stated on the programme itself.

Tell us about the group

Who they are, roughly how many, and what you want them to be able to do afterwards. We will come back with dates and a cost, and say plainly if a different course fits better than the one you asked about.

Not ready to commit

Or start with the courses themselves

If you would rather see what is available before talking to anyone, the whole catalogue is open, and four courses run on published dates you can book a single seat on.
