What this course is
In a workplace: What counts as a hate incident, the duty of care on employers, and how to respond when it happens to a colleague.
In a community setting: Recognising hate crime, understanding its impact on a community, and knowing what to do about it.
Hate crime cuts both ways. Employers carry a duty of care where staff face racist or sectarian harassment; community groups deal with it on the ground. The workplace framing needs the harassment language, so the title changes.
Who it is for
We run this for workplaces and for community organisations alike. The material is the same; the examples and the pace are set by the group in the room.
This is skills course — a short course, complete in itself. There is no prerequisite, and nothing you are expected to take afterwards.
How it runs
We deliver this course to a whole group rather than as a public course.
01
Talk it through
Tell us who the group is and what you need out of it. Usually a short call.
02
We shape it
The accredited content is fixed, but the examples, the case material and the pace are built around your group.
03
We deliver it
In your own setting or online, over 2 days, at times that suit the group.
04
Accreditation
Learners are registered with OCN Northern Ireland and assessed against the published criteria.
